Separation by size allows the isolation of fractions that are stable thanks to the bidentate nature of the linker.

Of particular interest are ultrasmall metal nanoclusters which experience strong quantum confinement effect leading to profound changes in the atomic packing structure.

Peyre Ferrofluids based on maghemite nanoparticles (NPs), typically 10 nm in diameter, are dispersed in an ionic liquid (1-ethyl 3-methylimidazolium bistriflimide – EMIM-TFSI). The average interparticle interaction is found to be repulsive by small angle scattering of X-rays and of neutrons, with a second virial coefficient A2 = 7.3.

Les nanomédicaments sont considérés comme des thérapies prometteuses pour le traitement du cancer. Cependant, leur utilisation clinique reste encore limitée, dû en partie au fait que leur comportement biologique n'est pas encore vraiment élucidé.

ESRF Highlights 2007 The synthesis of ordered, homogeneous porous grains is an expanding area of materials research. One strategy for their formation is to dry the spray of a complex mixture containing nanoparticles and templating agents [1]. In this process, a continuous flow of micrometric droplets, made from the initial dilute solution, is dried along a hot tube in order to evaporate the solvent. Self-organisation of the constituents takes place during the evaporation.
