Wind Energy – A Look at the Fundamentals of Turbulence

This presentation discusses the fundamentals of wind energy conversion and the current
development of this technology. Wind energy systems are the largest machines for generating
turbulence that humankind has constructed. From the perspective of turbulence research, we will present some key turbulence issues that significantly impact this technology. In particular, we will cover the transition to turbulence and the characteristics of small-scale turbulence, which are related to wind gusts.
