Le projet Européen 3εFerro, porté par Nick Barrett, de l'IRAMIS/SPEC/LENSIS consiste à concevoir et développer de nouvelles mémoires ferroélectriques non-volatiles,  dont on peut changer d'état par l'application d'un simple champ électrique, et directement intégrés dans des circuits logiques de type CMOS (donc compatibles avec la filière technologique silicium). De telles mémoires doivent permettre le développement de nouveaux dispositifs et de réduire drastiquement la consommation électrique du traitement et stockage de l'information.

The European project 3εFerro, led by Nick Barrett of IRAMIS/SPEC/LENSIS aims to design and develop new non-volatile ferroelectric memories, which state can be changed by applying a simple electric field, and directly integrated into CMOS logic circuits, and thus compatible with the silicon technology. Such memories must allow the development of new devices and to drastically reduce the power consumption of information storage and processing.
