Physics and chemistry, in all their aspects, are the two disciplines at the heart of IRAMIS’ activities. These disciplines are broken down into the following research themes:
- (Nano)magnetism: spintronics, multiferroic materials and new magnetic sensors
- Nanoelectronics and quantum technologies
- Emerging materials, 2D/topological materials, metamaterials
- Nanomaterials, surface science, growth control down to the atomic scale, structuring
- Synthesis and characterization of nano-objects
- Physico-chemical processes, activation of chemical functions, new catalysts
- Theoretical developments for Materials Science: see teams :
IRAMIS’s large-scale facilities, such as the LLB’s diffusion and diffraction spectrometers and neutron imaging stations, or the LSI’s SIRIUS gas pedal, are particularly well suited to the study of the physical properties of condensed matter, in all its forms.
