GMT presentation

The activity of the GMT (modelling and theory group) covers different fields ranging from mesoscopic physics to electronic, magnetic and transport properties at the nanometer-scale in nanostructures, 2D materials, metal/organic interfaces and topological insulators.

One of the characteristics of GMT is its close interaction with experimental teams. Most of the studies are either done in collaboration with experimental groups (inside or outside SPEC) to model physical systems or driven by fundamental considerations but with the aim of predicting new interesting phenomena or materials that can be tested experimentally and hopefully integrated in physical devices.

The GMTis a team of five permanent researchers (4 CEA and 1 CNRS) and regular master Internships, PhD students and post-docs.

The GMT group is conducting extensive computations on the local cluster comprising 30 nodes and 1200 cores as well as using national HPC facilities.
