Laboratory for Molecular Chemistry and Catalysis for Energy – LCMCE

The LCMCE brings together a team of molecular chemists whose research activities focus on methods for creating and breaking bonds using organic and organometallic catalysts. These efforts are devoted to the conversion of oxygenated molecules (C1 molecules, waste plastics, biomass by-products, nitrogen oxides, etc.) into useful chemicals, as well as to the development of renewable hydrides. The objective is to close the carbon and nitrogen cycles and foster a circular economy. Following a knowledge-driven approach, the team synthesizes novel molecular catalysts (organic and organometallic) and investigates their modes of action through mechanistic studies. Research interests focus on multidisciplinary approaches able to respond to today’s energy and sustainability challenges.
