The Sol-Gel Lab aims at preparing porous oxide materials through sol-gel processes, with special focus on the control of their chemical reactivity, porosity or shaping. More specifically, our materials can be shaped either as monoliths or as coatings, and/or be functionalized with specific organic molecules and integrated into devices including microsystems (Figure 1). These innovative materials, devices and global solutions to specific problematics are produced via optimization studies and a detailed understanding at different scales of the underlying fundamental mechanisms involved.
