Procédé de détection d'un composé gazeux de type BX₃, HX ou X₂ au sein d'un gaz à l'aide d'une composition contenant une molécule sonde, caractérisé en ce que la molécule sonde est une molécule dont la réaction avec un ou plusieurs composés de type BX₃, HX ou X₂ entraîne une variation d'au moins une de ses propriétés physico-chimiques cette variation étant mesurable par une technique d'analyse appropriée, et en ce que l'on effectue dans cet ordre les étapes suivantes : (a) mesure de ladite propriété physico-chimique de la molécule sonde, telle qu'une propriété spectrale, (b) mise en contact du gaz avec la composition contenant la molécule sonde de l'étape (a), (c) nouvelle mesure de ladite propriété physico-chimique. (d) corrélation de la variation de ladite propriété spectrale entre les étapes (a) et (c) à la présence dudit composé gazeux de type BX₃, HX ou X₂, la mesure de la propriété physico-chimique de l'étape (a) pouvant être une étape préalable, procédé de piégeage de composés gazeux de type BX₃, HX ou X₂ contenus dans un gaz, matériau apte à réagir avec au moins un composé de type BX₃, HX ou X₂ sous forme gazeuse et capteur pour composés de type BX₃, HX ou X₂.

Process for detecting a gaseous compound of BX₃, HX or X₂ type within a gas using a composition containing a probe molecule, characterized in that the probe molecule is a molecule for which the reaction with one or more compounds of BX₃, HX or X₂ type leads to a variation of at least one of its physicochemical properties, this variation being measurable via a suitable analysis technique, and in that the following steps are carried out in this order: (a) measurement of said physicochemical property of the probe molecule, such as a spectral property, (b) bringing the gas into contact with the composition containing the probe molecule from step (a), (c) repeat measurement of said physicochemical property, (d) correlation of the variation of said spectral property between steps (a) and (c) in the presence of said gaseous compound of BX₃, HX or X₂ type, wherein the measurement of the physicochemical property from step (a) is possibly a prior step, process for trapping gaseous compounds of BX₃, HX or X₂ type contained in a gas, material capable of reacting with at least one compound of BX₃, HX or X₂ type in gaseous form and sensor for compounds of BX₃, HX or X₂ type.
