High Harmonic generation assisted by electrical field
Recent studies confirm that high harmonic generation is possible to study electron mobility of semiconducting materials. We propose to use high electron mobility materials or/and materials with phase transition at different temperatures to study electrical response in petahertz range.
We are able to get the response of different materials to the applied electrical bias through high harmonics generation change: the electric components of a laser field changes its symmetry when coupled to dipole oscillations in semiconducting material due to DC field in the polarization plane, thus symmetry of crystal breaks and even harmonics should appear.
Further studies should enable to produce logic devices working in petahertz regime.
