Project
The central goal of the project the PostDoc will join is to test the feasibility of the dual AC Josephson effect. Several groups have recently demonstrated dual Shapiro steps in circuits where a nanowire or a Josephson junction is embedded in a high impedance environment and submitted to a microwave drive. However, the understanding of these experiments is still very sketchy.
In our project we will tailor the electromagnetic environment seen by the junction in order to fulfill somewhat contradictory requirements of having the Josephson junction in a high impedance circuit, while at the same having it well coupled it well to a (necessarily low impedance) microwave circuit for driving the dual Shapiro steps.
