The interdisciplinary center iNanoTheRad (Institute of Nanotechnologies and Radiation based Therapies) is an Interdisciplinary Object of the Université Paris-Saclay, validated in CoDirE in September 2021 by the Université Paris-Saclay.
iNanoTheRad aims to position Université Paris-Saclay as a center of excellence in research, training and innovation dedicated to improving personalized cancer treatment by combining advanced nanotechnology and radiation techniques.
The iNanoTheRad center is an Interdisciplinary Object of the Université Paris-Saclay. The aim is to improve and personalize treatments to increase cure rates and reduce the side effects of cancer radiotherapy.
In response to these major medical, cognitive and societal challenges, the project brings together chemists, physicists, biologists and clinicians in multidisciplinary research programs to develop innovative radiotherapy protocols based on the concomitant use of new irradiation sources and nanoagents or radiosensitizers. molecules.
The exploitation of nano-objects and very high dose-rate sources is a research niche that is developing in Europe and worldwide to improve cancer treatment by radiotherapy. The iNanoTheRad consortium is contributing to the development of new strategies, tools and original products, as well as improving understanding of their properties and modes of action.
This project began in July 2020 for 5 years and federates 27 laboratories, 36 teams made up of around 80 researchers from Paris-Saclay.
