UHI100 platform

The UHI100 platform is a class 100TW laser installation(Gestion du laser UHI100) coupled with an experimental room designed to study laser-matter interactions in the relativistic regime, above 1018W/cm2, in gases or solids (plasma mirrors, etc.).

The UHI100 platform consists of a commercial Amplitudes Technologies 100 TW class laser, which delivers femtosecond laser pulses with a 5Hz recurrence rate in an experimental room fully equipped to host fundamental or applied experiments.

Two high-energy optical lines are available, each equipped with a double plasma mirror system for pulse temporal filtering to achieve extremely high temporal contrast (10-13), and a deformable mirror, coupled with wavefront measurement and focal spot quality measurement, to optimize focusing on the target.

These two beams can be delivered simultaneously into two separate interaction chambers equipped with diagnostics specific to

studies on solid targets (e.g. relativistic optics on plasma mirrors, etc.) or on gaseous targets (e.g. irradiation of various samples with secondary electron sources for upstream studies in radiotherapy, etc.).

An auxiliary channel is available, compressed to 25fs, at the same rate as the main channels, with an energy of a few mJ, which can be used to develop the optical diagnostics needed to control experiments, such as ombroscopy or interferometry.

The platform is used mainly by the PHI group, and is accessible to personnel from outside the laboratory via national/European program committees.
