IRAMIS, Saclay Institute of Matter and Radiation, is a Fundamental Research Institute belonging to the Direction des Sciences de la Matière (DSM) of the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA). This Institute gathers 8 Units or Laboratories with research programs on Condensed Matter, Atoms and Molecules, most of them in association with the (CNRS, the Polytechnique High School or ENSICAEN).

Through the topics:
- Nanosciences
Radiation - matter interactions
- Matter and complex systems

researches within IRAMIS are oriented towards:
Health and Information Technologies (mainly nanoscience)
- Energies for the Future

Within this framework, the researchers of IRAMIS develop and control many experimental techniques on scales of the nanometer or attoseconde, they are also very present around the European Large Instruments.
