Advanced optical spectroscopies in Paris-Saclay” (AOSPS 2017) is a two-day workshop organized at the Paris-Saclay University. The aim is to gather experimentalists and theoreticians within the University perimeter interested in ultrafast dynamics and conformational changes in molecular systems, together with international experts in the field.

This workshop is organized in the context of the project "Multi-scale physical chemistry" (PhyChiM3), project drafted as a response to the "Strategic Research Initiatives” (IRS) call issued by the IDEX Paris-Saclay University in Spring 2016. PhyChiM3 project involves more than 130 researchers in about forty different teams emerging from three departments of Paris-Saclay: “Chemistry”, “PHOM” and “SDV”. PhyChiM3 is a physical-chemistry project with the main objective to promote certain innovative flagship actions, firmly anchored in the existing local expertise in Paris-Saclay. These actions include spectral and temporal multi-scale spectroscopic techniques. In order to support the PhyChiM3 project, the three departments "Chemistry", "PHOM" and "SDV" have decided to grant a financial aid of 16 500 €, with the objective of organizing a workshop/conference.

In the AOSPS 2017 workshop, we aim in particular to promote two scientific thematics developed in the PhyChiM3 project: two-dimensional spectroscopy and circular dichroism. Several internationally renowned personalities will be invited, adding a strong visibility to this event and to the Paris-Saclay University.
