1. Introduction
The aim of the present review is not to report exhaustively all the studies on electron hydration since its experimental discovery more than thirty years ago by Hart and Boag (see Figure) [1]. Our main objective is to overview the dynamics of electron hydration. We strongly recommend some other reviews to get a more complete historical introduction of the solvated electron [2-6]. We present here experimental studies on electron hydration in water and heavy water but also theoretical ones. We will first briefly review the literature up to 1987 and the pioneering work of Gauduel and co-workers [7]. We will then introduce three different sections devoted to the electron hydration in pure water, to the hole burning dynamics and to the electron hydration from Charge-Transfer-To-Solvent anions.
