Preliminary studies, carried out in collaboration between the LSDRM (CEA Saclay) for the NMR part and the Lavoisier Institute (ILV) for synthesis of materials, have shown the possibility of detecting interactions between gases such as 129Xe or 13CO2 and mixed polymer-MOFs membranes. These results are promising and need to be deepened.
The subject of this Master 2 internship, for 5 months, will be:
1) to optimize the NMR measurements of these probe gases, and to extend their use to other mixed membranes or MOFs of interest. This will enable us to characterize their structure and to extract key physical parameters in porous materials such as affinity constants, diffusion rates, pore sizes, etc.
2) The LSDRM is currently developing a microfluidic system for performing NMR and MRI experiments under gas or liquid flow. The trainee will adapt this system to the study of porous materials.
