The Saclay Laser-matter Interaction Center (SLIC) within IRAMIS is a research infrastructure hosting 4 intense femtosecond lasers and a large panel of experimental endstations to study ultrafast phenomena and laser-matter interaction at high intensity. Research carried out at SLIC encompasses a broad spectrum of areas: development and applications of intense coherent femtosecond/attosecond XUV sources, laser-driven particle acceleration, laser-solid interaction at high intensity, femtochemistry and femtobiology are typical examples.

SLIC facilities are widely open to external researchers. At the European level, SLIC is a member of the European LASERLAB-EUROPE consortium of laser infrastructures.

SLIC has close collaborations with industrial partners, whose main areas of activity are related to the development of femtosecond lasers and associated instrumentation.
