International Advanced School on
Materials for
Generation-IV Nuclear Reactors
September 24 - October 6,
2007
School Venue
The school will be held in Cargese, France, which is
located on the island of Corsica. This region is among the most scenic
along the Mediterranean, and has a pleasant climate. Daytime
temperatures in September normally range from 25 to 35 C, with
nighttime temperatures between 18 and 25 C.
The school will be held at the Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de
Cargese (IESC) which belongs to the University of Corsica and is
located a short 2 km walk south of the village, on the sea shore. The
Institute manages a number of apartments in the village, as well as a
few rooms on the institute premises.
Breakfasts are served at the Institute only for people staying on the
Institute grounds. Lunches and coffee breaks will be served at the
Institute only on working days. Vegetarians should specify their
preferences at registration time. Accompanying persons may opt to take
lunch at the Institute at extra cost. Several reasonably-priced
restaurants are available in the village for dinner, whereas at
slightly larger distances excellent restaurants specializing in local
cuisine and seafood offer an outstanding environment for scientific
exchanges and gastronomy.
