We will illustrate through the history and properties of glass the links between science, technology and innovation. By describing this material with extraordinary properties, we will present in a very simple way the physical principles allowing to understand its nature. We will also illustrate how technology has developed unique processes and why the evolution of these processes has led to products that meet the needs of the market. The link between economics and technology will be one of the guidelines.
