MRI techniques provide unique information not available through other physical modalities. MRI of solids, however, is challanged by short lifetime of NMR signals and normally considered not practical.

The use of advanced purely phase encoded MRI techniques (such as SPRITE) allows visualization of various soild-phase systems with high temporal resolution.

In this presentation, recent solid-state MRI studies of electrochemical materials and commercial Li-ion cells are demonstrated. The developed approaches have a great potential in fundamental and commercial applications.
