Excited states of nucleic acids: Some theoretical insights into their role in interaction of nucleic acids with photons

In this talk I would like to tell you about our most recent results on the different elementary electronic excitations of nucleic acids, namely: - Frenkel excitons, - charge transfer excitons and plasmons which ought to arise through nucleic acid interaction with UV photons and incident electrons.
