Convection observed in a shaken NMR tube
A Young NMR tube, equipped with a Teflon valve, contains a methanol solution of 1 catalyst, 4 molecules suitable for parahydrogen hyperpolarization through Signal Amplification By Reversible Exchange (SABRE), and 4 bar of parahydrogen. The tube was shaken 15 s, then placed vertically within 5 s on a support, and a ca 20-minute video is immediately recorded, 1 image each 2 s, using a USB microscope from Dino-Lite. The top of the NMR-tube is on the left.
