Using fluorescent probes in new modalities of irradiation in hadrontherapy

In the frame of NanoTheRad multipartner projet (IRS Paris-Saclay, phase 2) the use of molecular fluorescent probes are in the core of processus allowing the improving and personalizing of hadrontherapy cancer treatments. This intern should allow the clarification of chemical processes under 3 different modalities of irradiation : extreme dose rates, the use of nanoparticles of diamond and alpha particles.

Full description:
In the frame of NanoTheRad multipartner projet (IRS Paris-Saclay, phase 2) the use of molecular fluorescent probes are in the core of processus allowing the improving and personalizing of hadrontherapy cancer treatments.
This internship should allow the clarification of chemical processes under 3 different modalities of irradiation : extreme dose rates, the use of nanoparticles of diamond and irradiation by alpha particles and cold plasma jet. These modalities will be approached with several partnership in University Paris Saclay.
Chemical mecanisms of fluorescent probes such ADHP and Resazurin are known for scavenging efficiently OH and hydrated electron but also hydrogen peroxide. The yield determinations of these species under several type of irradiation among those previously cited will guide future protocoles of a translational research to clinical applications.
After a deep bibliographic work about irradiation source effects the student will perform experiment to determine yield of transient species by using several platforms in Paris Saclay. A method benchmark will be then proposed.
