Physics and chemistry :
The outstanding properties of nanostructures (morphology, magnetism, catalytic ...) are today more and more exploited. These nanostructures are usually obtained on a substrate where interatomic forces induce the spontaneous organization of matter at the nanometer scale. Studying the structures of surfaces and their dynamical properties (at equilibrium, fluctuations, growth, evaporation …) allows pointing out the basic laws for the matter organization at this scale. This knowledge allows imagining new atomic structures with novel properties and the way for their realization.
