Art et Science

 

Projet "Pleureuses"

Qui n’a jamais contemplé des gouttes d’eau cherchant leur chemin sur une vitre ? Le projet Pleureuses met en oeuvre ce phénomène mais en contrôlant le parcours des gouttes tout comme leur production. Une vitre laisse s’écouler des gouttes d’eau. Mais celles-ci ne semblent pas se diriger hasardeusement vers le sol, elles prennent des chemins de traverse, épousant des tracés invisibles, accélérant, décélérant pour former des esquisses de visages dont l’expression est, de fait, conditionnée par cette matérialité. La vitre, subtilement éclairée, est positionnée dans un espace favorisant des regards de part et d'autre de celle-ci : elle laisse ainsi entrevoir des visages à sa surface mais aussi à travers elle, ceux des autres spectateurs, pour les habiller furtivement d'une expression qui les dépasse.

SOLIEX - New Efficient Solid-Liquid Extraction Process for Selective Separation of Radionuclides from Waste Solutions.

 

The immobilization of calixarenes onto inorganic materials of high specific surface area allows the selective separation of radionuclides from liquid nuclear waste solutions. A novel solid-liquid extraction method, called SOLIEX (Solid-Liquid Extraction), comprises the carbon felt modified with 1,3-alternate calix[4]arene-crown-6 conformer  acting like a sieve to filter the radionuclides, notably cesium and strontium.
