Practical experimental training – Target Area Petawatt. Programme (PDF)

Topics and Format:
The CLF (Central laser Facility)  is organising a dedicated EU event based on our annual “Training Weeks” which have been run in the CLF for ~ 15 years. The course usually takes early PhD students and trains them in the practicalities of performing high-power laser experiments. Students benefit from the experiences of the CLF staff and have an excellent opportunity to network with other members of the EU community and attend lectures by guest speakers – recent topics have included ion acceleration, electron acceleration, astrophysical phenomena and summaries of international facilities.

Participants:
12 participants (PhD, post-doc or scientist entering this research field) for 2 consecutive weeks.

Application:
The school is free of charge. Financial support for travel, accommodation and subsistence will be provided by Laserlab-Europe to selected students.
