Very long and highly stable atomic wires, method for making these wires, application in nano-electronics.
(Lien WIPO)

The wires (2) are formed on the surface of a SiC substrate (6) and are rectilinear chains of an element selected from Si and C. The method for obtaining them consists  in: forming layers of the element on the surface and constructing the assembly by repeatedly annealing this surface provided with layers.
