Workshop on "Dynamic compression" at the ESRF - 29 and 30 March 2017  

The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France will host the "Workshop on Dynamic Compression," next 29 and 30 March 2017.
The aim is to bring together the community of future users of the High Power Laser Facility at ESRF. The scientific case involves:

1. To extend the extreme pressure and temperature ranges reachable today by static compression
2. To address the dynamic behaviour of matter under high strain rates

The workshop include presentations from experts using lasers and X-rays at high power laser facilities (like LULI, OMEGA, etc.) and at XFELs and synchrotrons (Spring8, SACLA, European XFEL, LCLS, APS, etc.).

The European Cluster of Advanced Laser Light Sources (EUCALL) provides Travel Bursaries (500€ to cover the registration fee and travel costs) for up to 20 Young Researchers to attend the workshop. Deadline for applications : 1 February 2017.
